An etched brass kit with whiite metal fittings. Requires Mansell wheels, couplings, lettering and paint to complete.
Introduction
The brake vans represented by this kit cover the nine vehicles built for the Cambrian Railways in 1895 and 1897 by the Ashbury Railway Carriage & Iron Company.
Some details can be found in the book “The Cambrian Railways” by R.Christiansen & R.Miller.
British Railway Modelling magazine for July 1999 has an article on liveries carried by Cambrian Railways rolling stock.
The running numbers of the vans were 253 - 258 & 261 - 263. All the vehicles survived to be taken over by the Great Western Railway following grouping in 1923, but nos. 253 & 254, and 256 - 258 were withdrawn before their allocated Great Western numbers were put on the vehicles.
